Sports are an integral part of our experience now and were also a part of life during the Civil War. One of the pastimes of the soldiers was baseball. We will host a game played in vintage uniforms with 1863 rules between the Pittsburgh Franklins and the Fulton Mules of Ohio.

The game will be held in an open field near our Bridgeport Sports Complex where a youth tournament will also be taking place. The youthful baseball players will have the opportunity to see the origins of the game.

See the connection that has continued for 150 years and helped shape the national character. We love sports and will play them anywhere and at anytime, even during the "Civil" War.

Sample pickles, jellies, and goodies of the period
