Who is Ron Watson?

Commitment :  Committed to good government…..a government that is open, responsive and accountable to the citizens of Harrison County.

Education :  Master’s Degree in Public Administration from University of North Florida; Bachelor of Arts in Education from Fairmont State University; Lost Creek High School

Experience :  Over 45 years of government service. United States Air Force; Police Officer, Washington, DC ; West Virginia Department of Corrections ; Mayor’s staff, Jacksonville, Fla. ; Special Deputy US Marshal."

Family :   Married to the former Janie Venettozzi (1963), four children, ten grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.



Work Plan

  • To ensure that the citizens of Harrison County have a voice in their government. Too often elected officials forget that the ownership of government belongs to the people of the county.
  • To develop partnerships with businesses, community groups, the school system and local governments on a variety of subjects.
  • To improve our police and fire services and expand water and sewer utilities.
  • To encourage additional programs and services for our youth and senior citizens.
  • To aggressively pursue economic development and other revenue enhancements. The end result, creation of new jobs that will stimulate our economy.
  • To promote governmental operation with full transparency.
