After you submit
What happens next
- Response time. We respond within five business days of receiving your request, not counting the day it arrives, weekends or legal holidays.
- If we need more time. We will contact you, explain why, and give an estimated date.
- If there is a cost. When the estimated cost is more than $5.00, we will contact you with the estimate before copies are made.
- Payment. Fees are paid before records are released, by check or money order made payable to the Harrison County Commission. The Commission Office will send you an invoice, which is paid at the County Clerk’s Office on the second floor of the Harrison County Courthouse.
- Our response. We may provide copies, arrange a time for you to inspect the records, point you to where the records are already published, or tell you that the Commission does not hold the records.
- If a request is denied. We will explain the reasons in writing. You may ask the Circuit Court of Harrison County to review a denial.
